Parents’ Association of Lissivigeen NS
The Parents’ Association committee of Lissivigeen NS is a group of parents/guardians who have volunteered their time and support towards the activities of the association to enhance the life of the children in Lissivigeen NS. Parents and guardians who currently have children attending Lissivigeen NS are all automatically members of the Parents’ Association.
The PA committee meet once or twice each school term to discuss fundraising ideas, suggestions, and projects. We currently have 11 committee members. Any parent is welcome to join the committee by coming along to the meeting or by getting in touch with us. Our AGM takes place in September/October and we encourage all parents/guardians to attend the AGM.
One of the Parents’ Association’s roles is to help raise funds that contribute financially with the provision of extra equipment and teaching aids identified by the school and parents, and approved by the Board of Management. Although the PA may organise many activities, these activities should all assist the association to achieve its two main roles within the school:
- To work in partnership with the principal, Board of Management and the whole school community for the betterment of the children in the school.
- To support and empower parents to be active in the best interest of their children’s educational lives.
