shamrock St. Patrick's Day Parade shamrock

Lissivigeen National School joined with Lissivigeen Community Alert again this year for the St. Patrick's Days Parade. The theme was Shop Local, Stay Local.
About 50 children from the school took part. We made colourful posters depicting all the great facilities Killarney has to offer and the children dressed up as tourists, jockeys, footballers, chefs, golfers etc. Great fun was had by all.
Special thanks to the Lissivigeen Community Alert committee for all their co-operation and for the excellent party they organised in Darby O' Gills afterwards.
It is great for the younger generation of our community to be involved with an organisation which helps the older members of the community and it makes them award of the great work done by Community alert. Thanks to all involved for a great St. Patrick's Day.

model car display

As part of Science Week children from 1st class to 6th class took part in a competition to design a car for the future. This competition was organised by the Kerry Science Teachers Association and Kellihers Toyota Garage, Tralee.
There was a great response from the children of Lissivigeen School and they produced 30 spectacular cars. All the cars were made from bits and pieces they found at home and a great deal of care and attention to detail went into the making of each car.

Well done to all the children who took part and a big "thank You" to all the parents who helped.
