We are a mixed national school, located on the outskirts of Killarney town, on the main Cork/Killarney road, 4km from Killarney town centre. We have 215 children and 12 teachers including 3 special education teachers. Our principal is Michael McAuliffe and our deputy principal is Eilís Mahony.
Our newly refurbished school was opened in 2006 with excellent facilities including 8 classrooms, 2 resource rooms, library and computer room, P.E hall and an all weather football pitch.
Mission Statement of Scoil Mhuire, Lissivigeen N.S.
This School believes that every child is a gifted child. We cherish all children equally. Here we are committed to encouraging children to develop the talent that is latent in each one of them. In the wholesome, happy atmosphere that we strive to provide, children will develop a sense of respect and responsibility, a love of God and one another, a joy in life, a thirst for knowledge, a commitment to doing their best and a pride in themselves, their work, their school and their country. Each child will learn to say with conviction:
I can make a difference.

This September we introduced a 'Two to Three Club' in the school. The club is available to students in
junior and senior infant classes who would normally finish school at 2:00 p.m. The club provides supervision
and fun for students in the school library.
The two to three club is proving very popular with both the children and parents alike, providing an
opportunity for the children to play with their friends for an hour after school, as well as being convenient
for parents who would be picking up children at 2:00 p.m. and again at 3:00 p.m.
